On November 27th, 2024, IFCN hosted this month’s IFCN Monthly Researcher Meeting, where we had the privilege of hearing from IFCN researcher Habtamu Lemma. His thought-provoking presentation, “Dairy Sector in Ethiopia – Situation, Trends, and Challenges,” shed light on key insights:
- Ethiopia is one of the top milk producers in Africa, yet demand continues to outpace supply.
- Smallholder dairy productivity faces challenges due to limited resources and support.
- Sustainable interventions could significantly enhance productivity, improve food security, and mitigate environmental impacts in Ethiopia.
