On October 30th, 2024, we hosted IFCN monthly researcher meeting.
Among the highlights of this webinar was a thought-provoking presentation by IFCN researcher Eva Vöneki titled “Hungarian dairy sector – Latest developments and international comparison of key production indicators” highlighting the following key points:
- Since 2021, Hungary’s milk production and number of dairy processors have been decreasing.
- Hungary’s raw milk prices are lower than the EU average, with rising dairy imports and falling export volumes.
- Large-scale farms with over 1,000 cows are the most profitable and use modern technologies.
