The World Dairy Summit of the International Dairy Federation (IDF) took place in Rotterdam, the Netherlands on October 17-21.

Manifold aspects and topics important to the dairy sector have been discussed by global private and private stakeholders.

The special focus was on the contributions and commitments of the dairy sector to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which were reaffirmed in the Declaration of Rotterdam.

Approximately 1 billion livelihoods or the socio-economic well being of a seventh of the world’s population is being supported by the dairy sector. In this regard, Dr. Torsten Hemme, Managing Director of IFCN has given a presentation during the summit on the topic of farmers’ income around the world.
